03 ago Veeam Legend 2025
On Thursday, February 20th at 02:41 AM (BR time)…
My email inbox had this wonderful message:

I was returning from a clinic visit about my “street skater knees” when I picked up my phone and started checking my emails…
I even stopped walking to read the email.
After two years as VUG Leader BR, my friend and mentor André Pulia a became a Veeam Legend of 2025.
When I was invited to the Veeam 100 Summit 2024 in #Berlin, I saw firsthand how much these people are giving their best.
The #V100 group is extremely focused and highly experienced.
I’ll tell you more about that trip in a moment…

Veeam User Group Brazil
Going on stage at VeeamON São Paulo in 2023 and 24 with VUG partners and some manufacturers has been a long-time inspiration for me.

In addition to the community presentation, I also shared a success story—one I handled from sales and architecture to execution and documentation. Today, I still support this environment with my data protection team.
#Veeam + #PureStorage + #AWS a powerful combination. You can learn more here:
And here:
It’s amazing to work alongside such inspiring people like Sara Wilson , Victor Monteiro, and Samuel Sousa .

Our members actively share knowledge, organize events both locally and online, and support one another through collaboration. We’re all about networking, accessible learning, and growing together as a community. Come be part of it!
Veeam Legend program
Here you can meet the Legends of 2025:
Writing about being a Veeam Legend is difficult to put into words.
The Veeam Legend group is a key part of the Veeam 100 Summit and acts as a valuable proxy for VBR (Veeam Backup & Replication)…
Having the opportunity to meet so many high-level professionals and start contributing to this group is a huge challenge and an honor.
What a Busy Week!
📅 February 20 – I received the email confirming I became a #Legend.
📅 February 16 at 12:28 PM – I passed the much sought-after VMCA V12 2025 certification.
Sunday noon in my hometown, #JoinvilleCity – Santa Catarina, it was 37°C. And of course, my air conditioner wasn’t working due to a power outage.
It was a week full of new challenges…
Speaking of which, have you prepared for the VMCA?

My experience in data protection
After formatting computers at an internet café and working on a service desk, I moved through different areas of IT infrastructure—such as virtualization, antivirus, Microsoft solutions, among others.
Eventually, I received the challenge to join the Data Protection team at a local company.
From my very first contact with Data Protector 6 in 2017, I became known as the “backup guy” at work.
Thanks to the well-structured and detailed training from my friend Maiquel Fiorentin, I supported an environment with over 20 backup libraries, with data retention policies of 5 years or even permanent storage.
It was a constant effort to meet the client’s complex demands.
One of our branches also used Avamar 6.1 together with Data Domain.
We stored many PBs of data on #tapes, and of course, our data center included an IBM TS4500.
Those were the days I truly learned a lot.
My first article was about DP:
I continued exploring many backup tools until I arrived at #Veeam.
After just one week working with Veeam, I started pursuing my first #VMCE certification.
I remember it like it was yesterday: I traveled to São Paulo and took the in-person course with the master Henrique Ferreira
Two days of deep inspiration and real challenges.
After that study journey, I earned my #VMCE V9.
Then came VMCE 9.5 Update 4, a version packed with improvements.
Here are some of the highlights I loved:
- #secureRestore
- #stagedRestore
- #OracleDatabase18c
- #MicrosoftReFS
- #StorageSnapshotsIntegration

I’m now a DataProtection Architect, and every day I seek best practices with clients, supporting pre-sales and leading our technical team.
Finops and Cloud Computing
Around 2020, I started my journey into the cloud. Today I also work in cloud pre-sales and lead the FinOps practice in the company.
I’m an active member of both the #FinOpsFoundation and #AWSBR communities.
I don’t have much content published on this topic yet, but 2025 will bring some exciting updates!
For now, here’s a post from one of Brazil’s biggest tech events:
📍 AWS Summit 2024

Veeam 100 Summit 2024 – Berlin

Of course, I can’t leave out how intense those 4 days in Berlin were!
